Job Summary
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snack items while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Replenish food during service, manage cashier functions, and monitor cafeteria operations for meals or special activities. Rotate kitchen stations as assigned and assist with deliveries, stock room maintenance, and custodial tasks using industrial equipment. Handle food requisitions, record temperatures, and report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Perform duties across multiple campuses as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
- Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by candidate
- Must have Food Handlers Certification from an (ANSI) American National Institute Standards accredited program or obtained during employment
- Certifications not accredited by ANSI must be registered with the Texas Department of State Health Services
- Working knowledge of industrial kitchen equipment and food production
- Manual skills and endurance necessary to perform work duties
- Ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of principles of quantity food preparation
- Knowledge of basic measurements for dry and liquid ingredients
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Some travel to other campuses within the district as needed
- Extended hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency or higher preferred
