Job Summary
Cafeteria Specialist to support Mercy Cedar Rapids with patient-centered food service across patients, families, volunteers, and staff. Responsibilities include preparing, serving, portioning, cleaning, cashiering, maintaining sanitary serving areas, monitoring food quality and temperatures, operating CBORD POS MICROS, and communicating effectively with staff and customers. Requires adherence to safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of multi-tasking to ensure timely meal service. Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; one or more years of food service experience preferred. Skills emphasize customer service, meal preparation, food safety and equipment operation, and clear communication.
Required Qualifications

- Proficiently operate and maintain equipment
- Ability to utilize dietary guidelines for service
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate knowledge of Health Inspector and State sanitizing techniques and procedures
- Follow instruction and daily workflow procedures
- Prioritize tasks for meal service
- Monitor temperatures and report deficiencies
