Job Summary
Monitor student behavior during meal service and assist with cafeteria cleanliness, recycling, and meal flow. Circulate throughout dining areas to assist students who need help, dismiss classes in an orderly manner, and encourage good table manners and citizenship. Communicate with students and staff in a positive, professional manner while modeling the school's strategic values. Perform other duties as assigned under the direct supervision of the building Administrator. This temporary hourly position supports Berkeley Middle School's educational support team in maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students during lunch periods.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Related experience in customer service
- Prior experience with children
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
- Ability to use good judgment
- Dependability
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop
- Ability to move about the school cafeteria
- Ability to lift 10 pounds unassisted
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Related experience in customer service preferred
- Prior experience with children preferred
