Cafeteria Monitor (Part Time)

Job Summary
Supervise students in the cafeteria to ensure safety and appropriate behavior while monitoring noise levels and interactions to promote a calm, respectful atmosphere. Address and report any behavioral or safety concerns, including injuries or bullying, to appropriate staff. Support cleaning and sanitizing of tables and dining areas between lunch periods, assist with waste disposal, and provide basic first aid when necessary. Encourage students to follow school rules and practice good manners while remaining alert and focused in a busy, noisy environment with frequent interruptions. Perform other duties as assigned to help maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful cafeteria environment consistent with National School Lunch Program standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Prior experience working with children in a school or similar setting
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children and adults
- Ability to remain calm, firm, and respectful when handing student behavior or conflicts
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow a daily schedule
- Willingness to participate in school/district training related to child safety, behavior, and emergency protocols
- SERV Safe Certification
- Identity Verified Prints Clearance Card
- CPR/First Aid Certification
