Job Summary
Work together with co-workers under the supervision of the Director of Food Service to operate the school lunch program, enhancing the service by providing each student with nutritious food of the highest quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring. Maintain a drug-free workplace and comply with all Board policies, federal, and state laws regarding non-discrimination and safety. Complete required certifications such as ServSafe or food handler certification, and maintain regular attendance while performing duties that may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout school buildings for extended periods. This role may be filled as a floater employee.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification of good health
- Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position
- Successful completion of ServSafe and/or food handler certification
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community agencies
- Ability to read, analyze, and prepare reports, evaluations, records, and correspondence
- Ability to use computers, district software, and standard office equipment
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout school buildings and grounds for extended periods
- Ability to conduct observations, meetings, and student services in a variety of school settings
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately during behavioral, emotional, or mental health crises
- Ability to lift and/or move light to moderate materials and equipment as needed
- Ability to travel between district locations and community sites as required
- Ability to attend meetings, trainings, and school-related events that may occasionally occur outside the regular workday
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district
- The employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Employees shall maintain all required certifications, training, and licensing requirements
