Job Summary
Cafeteria Food Tech responsible for preparing food using standardized recipes, accurate measurements, and correct food preparation techniques. Duties include cooking to deadlines and monitoring quality, maintaining sanitation, serving proper portions, reporting food usage and leftovers, receiving and storing deliveries, assisting coworkers, and driving the company vehicle if needed. Requires a high school diploma or GED and annual Phase I training per Louisiana standards; previous school cafeteria experience preferred. Skills include English proficiency, basic math, interpersonal abilities, supervision, knowledge of kitchen operations, safety, proper handling and temperatures, and familiarity with Child Nutrition Program policies; computer literacy and ability to learn programs. Certifications not required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or graduate education diploma (GED).
- Must complete the Louisiana Department of Education’s Professional Standards Training requirements each year.
- Must have successfully completed the Phase I training course within first year of hire.
