Job Summary
Assist in oversight of kitchen operations and support the School Nutrition Manager in organization, training, food production, and food service activities. May function as cook, cashier, server or helper; maintain NSLP compliance for Free and Reduced meals, and keep accurate records per local/state/federal rules and USDA requirements. Tasks include food preparation, serving, sanitation, temperature checks, cashiering, ordering and inventory, payroll/attendance/production sheets, and equipment requests. Use computer systems to order foods and supplies, prepare deposits when needed, and ensure compliance with health/safety standards (HACCP). Prepare meals per standardized recipes, monitor serving schedules, and assist with record-keeping and reporting while fostering positive relations with students and staff.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED preferred and 1 to 2 years of experience in the preparation of foods in an institutional setting or childcare; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
