Job Summary
Dust, mop, vacuum, and shampoo assigned areas including floors, carpets, restrooms, and medical equipment. Sanitize surfaces, replace liners, and manage trash and recyclables. Operate cleaning equipment, rearrange furniture, and change window treatments. Remove soiled linens, clean beds and stretchers, and pack regulated medical waste. Respond to emergencies and wear protective gear as required. This hourly trainee role involves lifting up to 20 pounds and bending regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- The ability to add and subtract numbers and make comparisons between numbers and letters
- The ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions
- Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information
- The ability to be courteous when occasionally contacting patients and visitors
- Work requires lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and moving patients/children/objects weighing 11 to 20 pounds
- Work requires regular stooping and bending
- The job requires reaching and grasping objects below the shoulder level and frequently reaching and grasping objects at the shoulder level
- Work occasionally requires reaching and grasping objects above shoulder level
- Work requires continually pushing and pulling non-motorized equipment (e.g., stretcher, food cart, mop, etc.) weighing over 50 Ibs
- Work requires regular grasping and fine manipulation with the hands
- Potential Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens. The job may require performance or tasks that involve the potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues
