Job Summary
Warmly welcome customers, take orders, and ring up sales while handling cash and credit cards with accuracy. Prepare and serve food items such as soups, sandwiches, and pastries, along with hot and cold beverages, and package to-go orders. Clean and sanitize work areas, guest spaces, and equipment to maintain a sanitary environment, and stock shelves as products run low. Open and close the cafe as scheduled, resolving customer concerns and promoting menu items. Must provide a Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days and work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work as a supportive team member
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to process information/merchandise through a POS system
- Ability to learn and use Cafe equipment (e.g. espresso machine)
- High accuracy rate in completing customer orders and ringing up sales in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
- Must be available to work a varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- English proficiency required to accurately process orders & payments, communicate allergens, follow food-safety & cash-handling procedures, and respond to customer questions & complaints
- Must provide a Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of employment
- Customer service experience in a food and beverage establishment or retail setting
