Job Summary
Lead CAE durability and topology optimization activities for chassis systems, including front and rear suspension, steering, and wheel-end components. Define simulation plans and execute static structural, nonlinear FE, fatigue, and multi-body load analyses to drive lightweight design initiatives. Develop CAE models, correlate results with physical durability test data, and identify root causes of structural failures. Mentor junior engineers, review supplier deliverables, and support benchmarking studies while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive CAE, with strong focus on chassis durability and structural optimization
- Strong knowledge of chassis systems, structural mechanics, fatigue theory, and vehicle load cases
- Experience with automotive CAE tools such as: HyperMesh, OptiStruct /Nastran, Abaqus, nCode/FEMFAT, Adams, LS-DYNA
- Expertise in: Chassis Durability Analysis, Structural Strength and Stiffness Assessment, Topology Optimization, Lightweight Design Development, Welded and Bolted Joint Durability
- Experience correlating CAE results with proving ground and laboratory durability testing
- Good understanding of EV chassis structures and battery integration requirements
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and global suppliers
- Effective leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple vehicle programs and deliver under aggressive timelines
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
