Job Summary
CAE Simulation Specialist focused on optimizing range and energy efficiency for electric and hybrid powertrains. Responsibilities include establishing targets for vehicle range, performing simulations to improve aerodynamics, rolling resistance, and powertrain efficiency using MATLAB/Simulink, collaborating across aerodynamics, thermal, and powertrain teams, identifying energy-loss sources and design improvements, correlating simulation results with real-world test data, conducting range validation under varying conditions, developing methodologies for energy-system optimization, building and maintaining models and scripts, and documenting analyses to guide product decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3 - 10 years of experience in CAE simulation, vehicle energy management, or efficiency engineering
- Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink
- Solid understanding of electric and hybrid vehicle systems, including powertrain and energy flow
- Experience in data analysis, model correlation, and validation techniques
- Knowledge of aerodynamics, thermal management, and battery systems
- Familiarity with CAE tools related to vehicle simulation (e.g., GT-SUITE, AVL Cruise, or similar) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and global teams
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity
- Willingness to travel, as needed
