Job Summary
CAD Technician will process daily field data (GPS Static, RTK, Total Station) in Trimble Business Center, convert data between AutoCAD, Esri geodatabase feature classes, and ESRI shapefiles, and prepare highway right-of-way maps and ALTA boundary survey plat deliverables. The role includes creating topographic surfaces from field data, preparing subdivision plats, researching government files and public records, producing maps, survey reports, and legal descriptions, verifying feature attributes, and recommending process improvements. Collaboration with the Survey Team Leader and Phase Manager is required, along with providing accurate outputs and maintaining schedule and quality. Key skills include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and, optionally, MicroStation with GeoPak/OpenRoads; GIS experience is a plus; LSIT is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center
- Ability to review, process and close traverse data
- Experience with MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads
- Knowledge of reading highway plans, plats and deeds
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
