Job Summary
CAD Technician to support Land Development team in New Albany, IN. Responsibilities include preparing site plans for land development projects, creating construction documents, schematics, and exhibits, addressing potential design issues, developing and refining design/drafting standards, applying efficient design practices, and collaborating with project engineers, managers, surveyors, and clients. Primary focus on AutoCAD Civil 3D for road layout, mass site grading, earthwork takeoffs, and erosion/sediment control plans, with opportunities to work across multi-discipline projects and communicate effectively with consulting firms, INDOT staff, and government agencies. Emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and a culture that promotes respect, professional development, and flexible work arrangements (remote, hybrid in-office, or full-time in-office depending on position).
Required Qualifications
- Associates’ degree in Design Technology/CAD
- 5+ years of working experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Basic understanding of civil engineering design practices a plus
- Must be organized and schedule driven to work on multiple projects in various stages of design
- Ability to think critically, manage time and problem solve
- Complete competence working well independently and on a team
- Strong ethical standards, commitment to self-development, teamwork, and a desire to work in a deadline-driven environment
