Job Summary
CAD Specialist in Worland, WY sought to support water resource management, surveying, and drafting across Wyoming. Responsibilities include field data collection, surveying, data organization, GPS data collection, topographic mapping, and producing maps/ plats using AutoCAD Map or Civil 3D and GIS software; interpreting aerial imagery and topographic data for reservoir design, irrigation planning, and land development; assisting with water rights permitting, petitioning, and compliance; researching historical land and water rights records; applying knowledge of PLSS and Wyoming water law; communicating findings to clients, landowners, engineers, and government agencies; and managing tasks independently with guidance as needed. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, travel to project sites, and a background in hydrology/water resources or related fields.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in hydrology, water resources, civil engineering, natural resource management, or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Map or Civil 3D, GIS, and spatial analysis tools
- Experience conducting fieldwork, including survey data collection and water measurement
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed
- Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft 365 and spatial data management tools
- Ability to interpret topographic data, aerial imagery, and mapping information
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel to project sites and remote locations
- Valid Driver’s License and insurability under company policy required
- Prior experience with Public Land Survey System (PLSS) preferred
- Experience with Wyoming water rights
