Job Summary
Senior CAD Specialist is responsible for creating construction/manufacturing design drawing sets, preparing new project files, and drafting electrical plans and panel schedules. Responsibilities include mentoring teammates, conducting peer reviews, collaborating with engineers to translate concepts into precise 2D/3D CAD models, and supporting prototyping, mock-ups, and renderings. The role involves identifying workflow improvements, participating in design reviews, and ensuring consistency with company standards. Work environment includes office time with possible project-site exposure; locations include Sacramento, CA and Mather, CA. Requires strong attention to detail, ability to mentor others, and ability to work in a fast-paced team setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AutoCAD trade school diploma
- Minimum 8 years of recent experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical
- Preferred basic Knowledge of Solidworks, Inventor, or other 3D modeling software
- Advanced knowledge in electrical drafting symbols
- Experience with electrical panel schedules, utility-scale photovoltaic site design, or electrical/general construction design
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
