Job Summary
Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for spacecraft and supporting structures while maintaining and improving the design library and data infrastructure. Develop, ideate, and document considerate practices that enable efficient design. This twelve-week hourly internship, open to current college students, focuses on working on hard problems involving hardware development and hands-on engineering. Candidates must have a passion for hardware development and experience with SolidWorks, GD+T, and engineering drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in either mechanical, aerospace, or an equivalent technical degree like physics, applied math, or industrial design
- Has a passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment with hands-on development
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Experience with GD+T and engineering drawings
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with design of complex assemblies and components
- Experience in the design of spaceflight components and/or vacuum compatible systems
- Experience with surface modeling
