Job Summary
CAD Drafter II will draft HVAC system layouts and sheet metal drawings using CAD software, convert CAD files to PDFs, and distribute start pack plans to field personnel. Responsibilities include drafting mechanical design layouts from engineers/architects, performing Manual J load calculations with Wrightsoft (8th Edition) and generating multiple loads within an 8-hour shift, producing air balance calculations from Manual J data for Energy Star homes, and ensuring designs meet project specifications and client requirements. Requires an Associate's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Drafting and at least 2 years of experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks. Strong CAD proficiency, HVAC design knowledge, and the ability to perform detailed calculations are essential. This in-person, full-time role is based in Phoenix, AZ, with a 40-hour workweek and employee benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Drafting
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or Solidworks
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Strong understanding of HVAC design processes
- Ability to perform detailed calculations
- Physical ability to push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds
- Able to work at a computer for extended periods
