Job Summary
Create Solidworks models, assemblies, and drawing files to support new product launches and equipment changes. Maintain the PLM Vault system and ensure parts are up to date in Quality and Manufacturing systems. Facilitate design reviews with stakeholders, check and approve drawings for release, and develop assembly documentation with complete Bills of Materials. Mentor CAD users on best practices, update engineering standards, and create documentation for GMP and FDA requirements. Submit First Article Inspection Reports and non-conformance investigations as needed. Work on-site with occasional remote flexibility, managing time and competing priorities while complying with company quality policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in CAD or related field
- 8 years of experience using Solidworks
- 10 years of experience using Solidworks
- 8 years of experience of designing parts for machining, forming, and molding manufacturing operations
- 8 years of experience creating assemblies, managing part revisions, and providing documentation for assembly operations
- Extensive knowledge of engineering design, manufacturing practices, and procedures
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for < 5% of a typical working day
- Ability to work seated for approximately 80% of a typical working day
- Ability to work standing for approximately 20% of a typical working day
- Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day
- Ability to comply with all applicable personal protective equipment requirements
- Ability to travel approximately 10% of working time for occasional training, out of state vendor site visits, and travel between Exact Sciences sites
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Occasional evening and weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with metal and plastic fabrication, including machining, sheet metal and 3D printing
- Experience using Solidworks Electrical, Simulation, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
- Experience working in manufacturing or engineering environments, applying problem solving skills and process improvements
- Experience in engineering or relevant life sciences / medical device industry
- Experience working in an FDA/cGMP/CAP/CLIA regulated production environment
