CAD Design Specialist – Structural Engineering Student

Job Summary
Create detailed CAD drawings for sunroom projects, including foundation plans, framing plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Interpret and modify drawings based on input from supervisors, customers, and dealers to meet building codes and project specifications. Prepare and print job packages for review, assist with engineering calculations, and process marketing orders for dealers and internal teams. Respond to inquiries from dealers and staff, track engineering request forms, and maintain organized records for invoicing and license renewals. Work closely with the Design Center and internal engineering team while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in CAD design
- AutoCAD
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- Experience in construction drawings, framing, or structural layouts
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction detailing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)
