Job Summary
CAD/CAM Designer needed to support Ellwood Crankshaft & Machine in Hermitage, PA and other ECG facilities. Responsibilities include creating solid models from customer drawings, developing process parts/drawings from models for shop use, reverse engineering measurements, and creating tooling assemblies/drawings. CAM duties involve creating CNC programs for Mill/Turns, Lathes, Mills, Grinders and related machines using CAM/verification software; provide CNC programming support for multi-axis milling and turning. Proficiency with Siemens 840C/840D, Fagor, Fanuc, Okuma, and related controls is required. Requires 2+ years in MasterCam or NX or an associate degree in drafting or related field, CAD/Solid Modeling (SolidWorks and/or Siemens NX), blueprint reading, and strong math and tooling/fixturing knowledge. Strong teamwork and communication skills, plus competent computer skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint). On-site position in Hermitage, PA with potential overtime, weekends, rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Two years’ experience in Programming using MasterCam or NX or an associate degree in drafting or related field (High School Diploma or GED required)
- Preferred experience as draftsperson
- Ability to use CAD/Solid Modeling software (Solid Works and/or Siemens NX)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong math skills, with the ability to understand complex 3D geometry
- Thorough understanding of tooling and fixturing
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work well with a team while also working independently
- Detailed oriented and ability to organize and prioritize
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills in the use of Microsoft products Word, Excel Power Point, etc.
- Valid driver’s license
