Job Summary
Conduct monthly close activities including posting journal entries, preparing reconciliations, and analyzing construction in progress for fixed asset additions. Execute daily journal entries to correct or amortize cost roll transactions, calculate inventory obsolescence provisions, and monitor absorption. Analyze monthly financials for the Bossier facility, prepare written commentary on variances, and provide documentation for external audits. Reconcile cost of goods sold and inventory accounts, perform freight and tariff analysis, and ensure manufacturing costs remain up to date. Comply with safety, health, and environmental requirements while managing multiple deadlines and responding quickly to management requests.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university
- One to two years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in handling general accounting responsibilities in manufacturing
- Intermediate computer skills
- Intermediate language skills
- Advanced mathematical skills
- Advanced reasoning skills
- Must be able to work overtime when needed during month-end closings, quarter and year-end reporting, audit and for special projects
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must comply with all safety, health, environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position
- Must participate in required safety training

- Must follow all safety guidelines that are required when working in the field, branch or manufacturing facility
- Must maintain sustained concentration on computer screens
- Must work under deadlines with frequent interruptions
