Job Summary
CACFP Program Specialist responsible for recruiting and training childcare centers/providers, conducting on-site monitoring and in-home visits, ensuring CACFP compliance, processing documentation and claims, and building community partnerships across Northwest Ohio. Roles include delivering training on systems like Minute Menu, providing technical assistance, maintaining documentation, preparing regular reports, staying current on USDA/ODE/CHA regulations, and supporting program materials and outreach to expand CACFP reach. Requires travel within Northwest Ohio, Ohio driver’s license, and an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience; strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills; ability to engage diverse communities; proficient computer and software usage; and a flexible, collaborative mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nutrition, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; or 2+ years of relevant experience
- Valid State of Ohio driver’s license and ability to travel frequently within Northwest Ohio
- Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations
- Understanding of child nutrition, child development, and early childhood education
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and communities
- Proficiency using computers, email, internet, and relevant software systems
