Job Summary
Cabling Technician role performing structured low-voltage cabling installation, termination, and testing for copper and fiber optic systems in commercial environments. Reads project drawings and schematics, pulls and routes cabling, installs cable management and mounting hardware, terminates data/telecom connections, and supports moves/adds/changes. Requires hands-on, physical work, adherence to safety protocols, and a valid driver’s license with tools. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling installation
- Experience with Cat3, Cat5/5e, Cat6, and fiber optic systems
- Proven ability to install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multimode)
- Familiarity with industry-standard installation practices and tools
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
- Physical ability to lift and carry 40+ pounds of equipment and materials
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work including standing, bending, climbing, and working at heights
- Reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must provide standard hand tools typically used in the trade
