Cabling Manager - Fibre Networks

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end fibre cabling projects across Devon and the South-West, managing surveys, splicing, installation, and handovers while coordinating with civils teams and contractors. Oversee materials, permits, traffic management, and access needs to drive programme efficiency, conducting site audits and walk-offs to ensure client satisfaction. Provide comprehensive progress reporting, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency. Interpret utility drawings, resolve on-site network issues, perform quality checks, and ensure accurate documentation and timely production. Uphold rigorous HSEQ standards and guide field operatives and subcontractors to maintain compliance and foster a culture of excellence.
Required Qualifications
- proven experience in fibre cabling or telecoms infrastructure delivery
- strong knowledge of FTTP/PON build methods and cabling standards
- comfortable managing contractors, budgets and schedules
- practical, problem-solving approach
- solid understanding of Openreach network and processes
- H&S frameworks
- NRSWA and compliance requirements
- strong communication skills
- Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM
- familiarity with GIS or telecoms build tools
- Regular travel to our operational sites
