Cable Technician (Project Based)

Job Summary
Install ducts, conduits, and cable pathways; pull, terminate, test, and repair interior and exterior copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling. Perform fusion splicing, labeling, and testing of optical fiber, while installing complete data-center infrastructure including racks, PDUs, patch panels, and RFID sensors. Route, label, and configure Cat6 and other network cable types following EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC standards. Generate rack elevations, floor layouts, and connection-detail drawings for varied operational spaces. Maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance and work in-person Monday through Friday from 0630 to 1430 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. This defined-term project supports Department of Defense infrastructure requirements through the end of the year.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with cabling systems
- technical training
- a combination of education and applicable experience
- Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, program, and replace network infrastructure
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics
- Experience installing, integrating, or troubleshooting RFID sensors and associated network components
- Must maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
