Job Summary
Construct and repair underground electrical systems, performing new work and maintenance on both energized and de-energized lines. Lead crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge, conducting pre-job and tailgate safety briefings while training and mentoring apprentices. Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, bucket trucks, and mini excavators to install conductors and related hardware. Perform live-line work using approved gloving and hot-stick techniques, adhering to strict safety protocols and PPE requirements. Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather, with availability for outages, storms, and emergency callouts. Requires a valid CDL, three years of recent underground experience, and willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of recent underground experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Willing to travel long distances on short notice
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime
- Comprehensive knowledge of tagging procedures, grounding and induced voltage on energized and de-energized lines using the proper tools and test equipment and understanding of underground services, infrastructure and duct banks
- Will operate a backhoe, bucket trucks and digger trucks, mini excavator
- Work in confined spaces, and in proximity to energized equipment
- Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation
- Perform live‐line work using approved gloving and hot‐stick techniques of energized lines
- Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and possess a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential
