Job Summary
Install, route, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling in commercial environments. Troubleshoot and repair low voltage, network, and telecommunications systems while reading blueprints and technical drawings. Test and certify cabling using Fluke or similar equipment, then maintain accurate documentation and service reports. Review work orders with clients, communicate project progress, and obtain completion sign-offs. Follow OSHA safety standards, building codes, and company policies. Requires 2–5+ years of experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift 50 lbs while traveling to multiple job sites in the Greater Reno area.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience installing and troubleshooting structured cabling systems
- Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic termination
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and telecommunications infrastructure
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working on ladders, in ceilings, crawl spaces, and other confined areas
- Willing to travel to multiple job sites throughout the Greater Reno area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with security cameras, access control systems, and network equipment
- Experience with CCTV, access control, routers, and switches
