Job Summary
Operate cable cranes to lift, move, and position materials while performing daily equipment inspections and maintenance. Follow all safety protocols, communicate with ground crew to coordinate activities, and maintain accurate records of operations. Troubleshoot operational issues, perform minor repairs, and assist with forklifts, manual labor, and general clean-up tasks as needed. Cross-train in other positions and support team members. Work aboard a marine vessel or dismantling yard in various weather conditions, adhering to project schedules. Valid crane operator certification and two years of experience with Sany or Manitowoc cranes required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid crane operator certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Sany or Manitowoc cable cranes
- Strong understanding of crane operations, load charts, and safety regulations
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and at heights
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on cranes
- Must pass employee physical and drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in scrap metal industry
- Additional certifications related to crane operation or heavy equipment
