Job Summary
CAA-certified Anesthesiologist Assistant position at WakeMed North Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Provides coverage in a busy hospital setting with a Care Team Model, offering self-scheduling and a rotation that includes in-house and call from home. Responsibilities include examining patient history for anesthesia suitability, preparing and educating patients, determining anesthesia administration, supervising CAAs/SAAs, overseeing recovery and pain management, and coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Requirements include certification as a CAA (or in progress), NC RN license (or ability to obtain), and BLS/ACLS/PALS; alternative AA pathway with Master’s in anesthesia assistant program and AA license also acceptable. Strong teamwork, communication, and proficiency with medical technology are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant, or in the process of completing the certification through an accredited CAA program
- Current or compact RN license in the state of North Carolina, or able to obtain NC licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
