Job Summary
Responsible for evaluating donor eligibility for plasmapheresis procedures and immunizations, complying with quality assurance regulations, and maintaining donor center compliance. This role requires conducting medical history reviews, managing donor reactions to procedures, and ensuring confidentiality of records. The candidate must be a licensed healthcare professional, able to train others, and proficient in donor management systems. Key qualifications include excellent assessment skills and the ability to manage emergency situations efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related educational program, such as Physician, Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse).
- Certified/licensed as an emergency medical technician (EMT Basic, EMT 2-intermediate, or 3- advanced/paramedic, if allowable).
- Must work within the scope of the professional license/certification, as defined by the state in which the work is performed.
- Must have a current and valid license and pass medical credential evaluation.
- Must maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Desired Qualifications
- One (1)-year experience in the hospital, field care, or experience in a plasma center preferred.
- Ability to manage emergency situations in accordance with standard medical care practices.
- Excellent patient/donor assessment skills.
- Effective physical and clinical assessment skills, customer service and people management skills.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Any specific state licensing requirements must be met per location.
- Must be able to supervise processes and procedures, but not staff, of the medical screening and/or donor floor areas, per state regulation.
