Job Summary
District Support Pharmacist (PT) provides pharmacist coverage across CVS Health districts, acts as Pharmacy Manager proxy during bench shifts, supports pharmacy operations and patient care, delivers immunizations, assists with inventory and cold-chain management, and enables clinician-based services (e.g., testing and prescribing where permissible) while traveling within the district to fill shifts and support pharmacy teams. Responsibilities include dispensing guidance, counseling, ensuring safety with pharmacy workflows, coaching technicians, improving patient experiences, addressing insurance and medication issues, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and CVS Health policies. The role requires active licensure, NPI, travel within the market, flexible scheduling including nights/weekends, strong communication, and a focus on patient safety and collaborative care.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
- Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Required training within designated timeframe
- Attention and Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
- Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
- Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem
- Problem Resolution: Identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
- Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
- Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager
- 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
