Job Summary
Pharmacist role in a closed-door Long Term Care facility (Omnicare) responsible for routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing and dispensing across drug distribution systems. Duties include accurate entry of orders, maintaining pharmacy security, verifying orders for accuracy, preparation/supervision of sterile IV products if required, perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs, and ensuring compliance with DEA/state laws and HIPAA. Must provide evening, weekend and holiday coverage during rotation in a 24/7 LTC pharmacy with 40 hours weekly; licensure in California required; education includes BS in Pharmacy or PharmD; immunization/IV certifications preferred. The position emphasizes leadership in a team-oriented pharmacy environment and aims to deliver high-quality service to patients, providers, and facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed pharmacist in the state of California
- Active and in good standing
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
- DEA/state law knowledge for controlled drug dispensing
- Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified
