Job Summary
The NC Programmer develops and optimizes NC programs for aerospace component manufacturing, creating machine tool paths from engineering specifications and CAD models. This role requires expertise in CNC machining processes, CAD/CAM software, and a strong understanding of aerospace materials and standards. Responsibilities include creating, testing, and optimizing NC programs, collaborating with engineering and quality teams, and maintaining documentation. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with 3-5 years of relevant NC programming experience, and may benefit from a degree in a related technical field.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in NC programming, preferably in the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in writing and editing G-code and M-code for CNC machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
- In-depth understanding of CNC machining processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis operations
- Familiarity with aerospace materials and their machining characteristics
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards, such as AS9100 and ISO9001
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam, CATIA V5, or Siemens NX
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
Additional Requirements
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Successful candidates must be able to secure Program Access approval
