Job Summary
The Network Engineer provides advanced Level 3 support in a complex, multi-domain NATO environment, leading high-impact incident resolution, performing in-depth issue analysis, implementing sustainable fixes, and driving service optimization. Responsibilities include contributing to design, planning, and implementation of network enhancements, overseeing governance and change management during deployments, coordinating with NATO sites and external partners, maintaining technical documentation, and ensuring secure, scalable interconnectivity across distributed architectures. Requires active NATO SECRET clearance, a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years in complex network roles (or 2+ years with a related degree as specified), CCNP certification, and hands-on experience with BGP, IPv6, QoS, SD-WAN, multicast, data-center switching, network automation, and ITIL-based service management. The role is on-site in Wesel, Germany, contract-based through 31 December 2026, with full-time hours as indicated by the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- 2 years post-related experience OR 8 years progressive experience in complex network engineering
- Active CCNP (Enterprise, Service Provider) certification is required
- Deep knowledge of BGP, IPv6, multicast, QoS, SD-WAN, SDN/programmability
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
- Experience with routing and switching, data center technologies
- ITIL knowledge or service management background
- CCIE (Desirable)
- NATO SECRET clearance
