C Technician Fleet Maintenance

Job Summary

Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on motorcoaches, cutaway shuttles, light-duty vehicles, and electric vehicles. Diagnose and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, HVAC, electrical, fuel, and drivetrain components. Review driver defect reports and maintenance schedules to proactively address fleet concerns and minimize road calls. Maintain accurate maintenance records, labor hours, repair documentation, and parts inventory. Utilize OEM diagnostic software and specialized tools to troubleshoot vehicle systems. Perform road tests, quality inspections, and field service calls to verify repairs and respond to breakdowns. Support the installation and troubleshooting of onboard technology including telematics, Wi-Fi, cameras, and fleet systems. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following safety policies. Collaborate with Fleet leadership and Operations to ensure fleet reliability and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Professional experience maintaining and repairing vehicles, or successful completion of a vocational automotive or heavy-duty diesel program, associate's degree in automotive technology, Heavy Duty Diesel, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Technician C Tech: 2+ years of professional experience or completion of an accredited automotive or diesel technician program
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical, brake, powertrain, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational needs, including occasional work outside of regularly scheduled hours
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position

  • Experience working on transit buses, motorcoaches, commercial vehicles, or fleet equipment
