Job Summary
C-Store Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations to drive efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and developing team members; ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and customer-ready store; enforcing beverage laws; leading staff to achieve high store inspection scores; overseeing cash handling and deposits; and maintaining policy-compliant operations. The role requires flexible availability (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) with typical shifts five days per week and potential up to six days when needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service, reliability, punctuality, teamwork, organization, and initiative, and possesses a valid driver’s license and the ability to perform physical tasks (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in cool environments). Education and experience in retail, food service, or customer service are preferred, with on-the-job training provided. Travel up to 10% may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Previous retail, food service, or customer service experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to stand during the entire work shift
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in a cooler at 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes
- Must be able to travel up to 10%
- On-the-job training is provided for all new team members
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Organized and efficient with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
