Job Summary
Deliver direct support to 4–6 individuals in residential settings or up to 10 in periodic programs, assisting with personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, and community integration. Administer medications, monitor health, and prepare meals according to individual service plans. Accurately document progress, maintain confidentiality, and report incidents or safety hazards. Transport individuals safely into the community using a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance. Maintain a clean environment, perform minor repairs, and participate in mandatory trainings and safety drills. Work full-time or part-time hours with a valid driver's license and high school diploma preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- All state-required training(s) and certification(s) completed in mandated timeframes
- Maintain valid driver's license, meet all insurance requirements, and be approved by management to be a driver for the company
- At minimum, a High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing in The State of New Jersey
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing for the state in which they live (if commuting from another state)
- Employees must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
- Must submit to drug testing prior to employment
- All employees shall submit to drug testing randomly and for cause/suspicion
- Employees must submit to criminal background checks
- Be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served
- Have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required trainings
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Working knowledge of computers
