Job Summary
Reporting to the Product Manager, the Purchasing Department Buyer’s Assistant supports buyers in day-to-day activities, handling product data creation and maintenance (SKUs), entering purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities include updating product records across systems, managing pricing for regular, promotional, and clearance events, preparing replenishment and special orders, and collaborating with vendors and internal teams on promotions, marketing initiatives, and e-commerce activities. The role also involves preparing reports on product, promotional, and sales performance, and providing cross-functional support for product development, packaging initiatives, and process improvements. Bilingual (French and English) communication and strong analytical skills are required to interpret sales data and support timely decision-making in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a retail environment or a purchasing department
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and performance data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with ERP or purchasing management systems is an asset
- Experience with JDA, Content Manager, and other purchasing tools are assets
