Job Summary
Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and inventory. Issue purchase orders and manage their lifecycle from creation to closure. Monitor supplier performance, address non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure material availability and quality for manufacturing. Analyze market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing strategies. Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. This role supports manufacturing organizations in Zeeland, MI through The Pivot Group Network, focusing on strategic sourcing and building strong supplier relationships within the West Michigan region.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role within a manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and achieve cost savings
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and procurement processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for procurement and inventory management
