Job Summary
Analyze customer requirements, forecast, and lead-times to align buys with demand and avoid excess inventory. Review slow-moving stock, collaborate on resolution strategies, and execute weekly inventory and material planning reviews. Place and change purchase orders, evaluate pricing and yields to optimize buy plans, and communicate lead-time delays to customers. Expedite orders when necessary and develop coverage plans if primary vendors fail. Serve as a back-up for the Support Team, including Inside Sales and Account Managers. Work in an office setting with face-to-face collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough general knowledge and understanding of customer service and inventory management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management and teammates
- Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, and manage difficult situations
- Able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Excellent organization, problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail is required
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suites and basic computer skills
- Excellent data entry skills required
- Associate's Degree in a related field
- At least two years of sales, purchasing, or customer service experience in manufacturing
- Competency in the position is demonstrated (substituting for formal education)
- Results of a 10-panel drug screening, including marijuana
