Job Summary
Procure materials and services to support production, ensure timely delivery of critical-path materials, and maintain supplier performance in a defense manufacturing environment. Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and internal policies; manage purchasing records in Oracle ERP; identify and develop suppliers, negotiate terms, and monitor vendor performance. Collaborate with Planning, Inventory, Engineering, and Quality to validate specifications and certifications, support outsourcing of work orders, analyze cost drivers, and mitigate supply chain risks to protect production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in defense, shipbuilding, or heavy manufacturing
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS compliance and government contracting regulations (preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle experience strongly preferred)
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
- Must have ability to pass pre-employment drug-screen and background check
