Job Summary
The Buyer role supports procurement for European operating locations and US sites, handling procurement actions from MR evaluation to PO issuance. Responsibilities include reviewing material requests, coordinating with transportation and shipping teams, tracking delivery dates, monitoring supplier performance for quality and contractual compliance, negotiating and finalizing vendor agreements for cost savings, communicating anomalies to vendors, maintaining internal databases, acting as Supply Representative during deployments, and generating RFQs and POs while managing inventory levels and adherence to quality/control standards. Requires strong negotiation, cross-functional collaboration, and proficiency in English and Microsoft Office; travel within the US and internationally is expected, with capability to obtain CAC and security clearance. The position emphasizes sourcing efficiency, on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, and supporting aircraft readiness, with emphasis on local procurement, supplier performance, and inventory management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 2 years’ experience in purchasing/logistics
- Ability to travel within the US and internationally
- Ability to obtain Common Access Card (CAC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must be able to work in ITAR-controlled environments
