Job Summary
Buyer responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to support manufacturing, operations, and sales at Systel. This role manages supplier relationships, processes requisitions, monitors reorder points, maintains records, and assists in supplier report cards and performance reviews. Responsibilities include issuing RFQs, negotiating pricing and terms, managing purchase orders and delivery schedules, expediting orders, and communicating potential shortages or end-of-life notifications. Requires knowledge of procurement processes, APICS certification or equivalent experience, and strong skills in purchasing, supplier management, and MRP; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; and a willingness to contribute to assembly work when needed. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED and APICS certification or 5+ years procurement manufacturing environment, product management and supplier management
- Associate’s degree and APICS certification or 2+ years procurement, manufacturing environment, product management and supplier management
- Strong knowledge and skills in purchasing, supplier negotiation, and MRP systems
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
