Job Summary
Generate and manage purchase orders, including entry, confirmation, and follow-up on estimated time of arrival. Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on late or outstanding shipments while maintaining accurate product and supplier data within the ERP system. Set up new product codes, communicate order status updates to branch and internal teams, and liaise with suppliers regarding lead times, backorders, and pricing. Support sourcing activities by identifying alternative products and assist in maintaining supplier relationships. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product availability and participate in process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal teams
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Suite
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory driver's abstract
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered)
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) preferred
