Job Summary
Buyer role at S&C Electric Canada on-site in Toronto. You will procure production materials, evaluate supplier performance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, cost-effective supply, while supporting inventory reduction and continuous improvement through problem-solving activities and data-driven decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-3+ years of demonstrated experience working in purchasing or a related role in the manufacturing industry.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, including requisitioning, purchasing, and supplier management.
- Some knowledge of supply chain management principles, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Good negotiation skills with the ability to understand business priorities and pursue beneficial outcomes in discussions with suppliers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal departments and external vendors.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to understand information and make decisions based on analysis.
- Must have some experience working with supplier management platforms and data analytics tools.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (Advanced), Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- SCMA or APICS certification or higher is preferred.
