Job Summary
Manage procurement of raw materials and third-party items to support production schedules and customer demand while monitoring inventory levels and maintaining accurate MRP parameters within Syspro. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply terms with current and prospective suppliers, research new sources for cost savings, and resolve purchase order, goods receipt, and invoicing discrepancies. Build strong supplier relationships, maintain scorecards and performance metrics, and expedite materials as needed to meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree required with experience in purchasing and inventory management; travel to suppliers and plants may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to make sound purchasing decisions and move work forward with appropriate independence
- Strong communication skills for supplier interaction and cross-functional coordination
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements and firm deadlines
- Working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing processes, and product costing in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to maintain accurate records, follow purchasing protocols, and support compliance-related requirements
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as Syspro
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in purchasing and/or inventory management within a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to use standard office equipment
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Must be able to lift items up to 15 pounds
