Job Summary
Manage new and existing merchandise programs across various categories and vendors while negotiating prices, delivery conditions, and co-op advertising to maximize program potential. Analyze past buying trends, sales records, and quality data to optimize inventory turns, cost controls, and profit margins. Select appropriate merchandise for assigned categories, order and authorize payments per contractual agreements, and ensure proper stock levels and product turnover. Secure promotional events and assist Marketing and eCommerce with product engagement. Continuously acquire product knowledge and evolve purchase plans to reflect current industry trends. Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management required with 2+ years of purchasing experience. Relocation to Grand Forks, ND is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business field, supply chain management, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of prior experience working with purchasing and inventory control practices
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft office suite
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence, strong written and verbal communication, organization, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of calculating figures and amounts such as profit margins, discounts, interest, inventory turns, and percentages
- Energetic self-starter with the ability to work autonomously, as well as a part of a team environment
- Ability to keep a high degree of confidentiality of all departmental and Company information
- Relocation to Grand Forks, ND required
