Job Summary
Buyer / Procurement Specialist at Thermo Fisher supporting LED site procurement with a hybrid mix of tactical PO management and project-focused initiatives. Responsibilities include creating and managing purchase orders aligned with MRP demand, monitoring open orders, coordinating with suppliers on shortages and delivery commitments, and resolving discrepancies. Drives MCP cost-savings through tracking, negotiations, and cost validation; provides cross-functional support for VAVE, NPI, product transfers, and supplier transitions. Collaborates with Category, IEC, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain to move MCP and supplier actions from idea to execution. Requires strong analytics, supplier management, and cross-functional communication; proficiency with ERP/MRP, procurement reporting, and Excel. Schedule: Mon-Fri; Environment: Office; Location: Marietta, Ohio (hybrid).
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, materials, supplier management, manufacturing support, or project support
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, supplier communication, purchase order management, and procurement reporting
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers, projects, part numbers, priorities, and follow-up actions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
