Job Summary
Forecast material needs and oversee purchasing activities for paper to ensure manufacturing operations continue without interruption. Monitor site-level consumption, adjust order sizes, and work with vendors to meet committed delivery dates while identifying supply-chain bottlenecks. Facilitate supplier discussions for cost reduction, analyze sourcing data for savings initiatives, and manage working capital to meet inventory goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on production planning, new product development, and trade regulations for overseas markets. Maintain SAP MRP parameters, negotiate pricing, and resolve invoice or quality issues with suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business, Accounting/Finance or related field
- 2-5 years of Supply Chain experience with an emphasis in material planning
- Proven track record of success in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
- Ability to manage projects or threads of projects and perform self-directed work
- Effective problem-solving skills and various requirements gathering techniques
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various reports and documents
- Ability to present issues clearly and concisely; generate accurate analysis, with a good understanding of the cause and effect that will occur with each alternative solution both inside and outside the Supply Chain
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid and concise conclusions and/or recommendations
- Proficient in managing and maintaining MRP settings and modules
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of procurement and planning activities within SAP
- Proven data analytics experience
- Previous experience with procurement of paper, packaging materials
- Ability to adapt to change in direction and modify approach on the fly
- Certifications or additional education in Supply Chain field, APICS, CPIM, CSCP, CPF
