Buyer/Planner

Ensure materials are available to support customer requirements while minimizing freight costs and monitor capacity requirements for both short and long term. Work with Forecasting, Sales, and Marketing to develop accurate forecasts and manage the backlog by facility to achieve service objectives. Reduce lead times, minimums, and price break quantities with Purchasing, provide forecasts to major suppliers, and ensure all obsolete inventory is dispositioned. Create work orders and purchase orders, review all ECRs/ECNs, and maintain the integrity of plan bills. Review procedures to identify continuous improvement opportunities and mentor cross-training of Planner/Buyers. Complete special projects as assigned. Primarily an office environment with occasional production floor interaction; requires ability to lift up to 25 pounds and wear PPE.
